You are a band/publicist
IndieView is a new way to promote bands. We don’t supply free music unless asked by the label, we don’t interview bands on arbitrary topics, and we don’t review music.
We are a site that teaches fans how to make music. But instead of getting random Joe Schmoe talking to you about it, we get popular bands to teach you. The information the bands give is always practical and inciteful, never filler info. This makes readers more interested in what the bands have to say, which benefits the artist and the fan. This also more easily attracts new fans, as well as old.
IndieView has the artist give value in any medium possible; whether it be text articles, audio interviews, video demonstrations, or twitterviews. We are working with Vokle.com to eventually set-up timed video chats between the artist and fan.
At this moment we are only conducting phone interviews, either through telephone or Skype.
The interview will be focused on how the artist writes music, as if they were teaching someone how they do what they do. Listeners will want to be inspired to write their own unique style of music after the interview… that is the goal of this. Something for musicians, from a musician.
Let me know if you like this or not.

What is IndieView?
IndieView is the definitive resource on songwriting for musicians and music fans. Ever wonder how popular indie bands make such great melodies? Or how they know when a song is ready to record?
We interview the artists that make amazing music and have them spill the beans through interviews, live demonstrations and song breakdowns. Our goal is to teach you how to make great songs. Period.
We won’t stiff you when it comes to talent. Bands are handpicked to be the most talented and the most innovative when it comes to writing tunes. Whether they are the newest “buzz band” on the internet, or an artist you haven’t heard of yet, we guarantee you will love the interview.
They’ve done all the dirty work for you so you don’t have to. Step inside their mind and learn from the best, it’s like a college course on songwriting, except the band is your professor.
How is this different?
It’s like nothing ever done before. Don’t worry, we checked. While other places love to ask the run of the mill questions, we get down to the nitty gritty, leaving no stone unturned. Change, “What was your craziest concert moment?” to, “Show me how you translated this song for a live setting.”
What’s on TV?
You’ll get full HD quality video that covers bands, solo artists, and producers discussing music from their own perspective.
We cover every genre from punk, to electro-pop, to rock. If it is popular on the internet (music blogs, review sites), then you can find it here.
Interviews
We discuss everything from the fundamentals of writing music, to their gameplan on success based off the songs they write. How do they begin to write a song? Where does the inspiration come from, and how do they deal with writer’s block? We find out how they got to the place they are at, and how you can do the same. Drummers, singers, guitarists, beat makers, and keyboardists cover it all.
Demonstrations
After talking about it, then they show us how it happens. They breakdown songs by recreating the process in front of the cameras, step by step. This is truly behind the scenes.
On-the-spot songwriting
Last but not least, the musician decides how they will write a song for us. This is the most intimate part of the interview, an inside look on the magic of songwriting. Witness every detail in brainstorming, planning, lyrics, and execution.
Consider this a growing repository of bands discussing their songwriting process. You can come here to check to see what bands have submitted their interview, and if what they talk about is valuable to your own personal progress.
Sick of reading interviews with questions that don’t concern you? Now you can ask your favorite bands the questions that you want to ask using Twitter, and get responses from the artists’ Twitter account. We are changing the way interviews happen. @IndieviewTV
From time to time, artists will record a song for IndieView and release it right on this website. It doesn’t get much better than that. It’s our little present to you for taking interest in IndieView and the featured artist.
